Other REIVERS and SUSTRANS Cycle Routes
are all within easy reach of Linskeldfield Tarn.
There are lots of roads and lanes to cycle around in this area > both On-road and Off-road cycling available.

COUNTRY WALKS, RAMBLES
& CYCLE RIDES

Most of the country roads and lanes round here are peaceful, quiet and fairly traffic-free.
An ideal area to walk or cycle (even with the kids)!
A blissful change from the rollercoaster of
city life and work!
A perfect place to wind-down from the stresses and strains of normal everyday life and what it throws at you!
It's also, an ideal chance to watch nature
& be part of it!
Wildlife is all around us here in it's
natural habitat.
It wouldn't be unusual to see a Deer, Squirrel or Pheasants + an abundance of wild birds, common and not so-common. Lots of Farm animals inc. our own Stud of  Shetland Ponies with their cute, tiny foals, as you stroll along the country Lanes near Linskeldfield.

FELL WALKING
Take your pick - you can walk forever and savour the beautiful countryside, fantastic views and abundance of wild life.
If you don't want to do your "own thing" -
There are lots of organised, Guided Walks of different grades of difficulty, that go from Keswick Moot Hall
(the Tourist Board > centre of Keswick)
You can buy Walks Guides from either Cockermouth or Keswick Tourist Boards or any of the many Climbing Equipment Shops or Book shops in Keswick. (12 miles)

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING
There's climbing and there's climbing.
By all means "climb" up any of the Mountains but make sure that you are  :
a) equipped for climbing and
b) don't over-estimate your abilities and
c) keep the "climb" you chose, within
your capabilities  d) Leave a Route Plan inc. est. time of return with whoever u r staying with.
(The Mountain Rescue Teams are not amused if they are called out to someone who has seriously over-faced themselves esp. if they are ill-equipped in their knowledge, ability and equipment)!
A
few of the Mountains are steep but can be Walked up but others demand serious skills and abilities.

Skiddaw is 4th highest Mountain in England but one of the easiest to walk up, with wide paths and fantastic views from the Top.  (3053 ft)!
This would be a good "First-time Mountain".
